Pokimane Explains Discomfort Over Atrioc at Ludwig and QTCinderella’s Wedding
Pokimane's October clarification and Atrioc's response revisit the 2023 deepfake incident and the lasting effect on their shared social circle.
Pokimane says Atrioc’s presence around close friends remains uncomfortable for her, years after his 2023 deepfake controversy. Discussion of Ludwig and QTCinderella’s wedding prompted her to explain why the incident still affects her, while Atrioc acknowledged her feelings and defended his friends’ decision to invite him.
Her October 26 statement emphasized that other people could choose their own friendships. She also said she wanted space to describe her experience as someone directly affected by the original material.

What Pokimane and Atrioc said
Pokimane described continuing discomfort as Atrioc became more involved in events and relationships close to her. Atrioc acknowledged that her feelings were valid, expressed regret and objected to criticism directed at friends who continued to associate with him. Their statements offer different perspectives on what an apology changes within a shared social circle.
What happened in the original controversy
In January 2023, material visible during Atrioc’s broadcast revealed access to a website containing nonconsensual sexual deepfakes of female creators. He subsequently apologized. The reporting concerns viewing or paying for access to that material; it does not identify him as its creator.
Pokimane’s clarification adds an important point about her own position: she said the page visible in the original stream involved her likeness. Her later discomfort therefore belongs to the account of a person directly affected, rather than an observer commenting on somebody else’s dispute.
Removal work and lasting discomfort
Pokimane acknowledged Atrioc’s removal efforts and described an offer of $3,000 toward that work. She also said she had spent substantially more fighting the material herself. These are her accounts of the spending and offer. Her broader point was that practical removal efforts had not undone the experience.
What they do clarify is the difference between addressing material online and deciding how to participate in a shared social space. Takedown work can target a copy of an image. It cannot determine whether someone feels comfortable seeing the person associated with the incident at an event. Those questions can remain separate even when an apology and practical repair efforts have occurred.
The public exchange leaves much of the group’s private history unexplained. Neither the wedding photographs nor the response clips provide a full account of who spoke to whom before the event. Pokimane described her own boundaries, while Atrioc defended his friends’ freedom to include him. Both positions can be reported without guessing at conversations involving Ludwig or QTCinderella.
